Wer braucht schon Genres? Ob nun Indie, Synth Wave oder irgendwas dazwischen. Dieses kategorisieren ist doch lame und es gibt so viel verschiedene Genres dass eh kaum einer mehr durchblickt und so umschreibt Elena Rud ihre Musik einfach als „Melancholic Love Shit“ und dies trifft es ziemlich gut.
Mit Date Me hat Elena Rud, die dieses Jahr auch beim digitalen Reeperbahn Festival mit dabei war, einen richtigen Banger veröffentlicht. Ein Song über das Verliebtsein und auch damit verbundenen Selbstzweifeln. Uplifting, tanzbar und mit ganz großem Ohrwurm Potential was nicht zuletzt an Elena Ruds besonderer, leicht rauchig, kratziger Stimme liegt.
